Supernatural Powers and Deities
As a polytheisticreligion the Celtic spirituality has a large number of Gods and Goddesses. In the Celtic religion there are three categories of deities. ‘General deities’, known throughout large areas and worshipped by multiple series of tribes, are the gods and Goddesses invoked for healing, honor, protection and luck. The ‘Local Deities’ who were worshipped primarily by one tribe or a number of tribes in a local area, embodied Celtic nature worship and were the spirits of particular features of the natural world and landscape, such as trees, rivers and mountains. The third category of celtic deities were pantheonic and and worshipped by the majority of the Celtic world.
